Just one quick announcement......

We're ENGAGED!! YES... Shane and I are about to embark on life's most amazing adventure. It has been an amazing 5 months all together, and I know I couldn't live another day without him. I know I will be far from "home" but I am anxious and excited to start a home and family with someone I love and adore so much. Shane's family has been SOOOO amazing to me, I couldn't ask for better future in laws. Even since the first day Shane took me over there in November I have felt at home. It is a huge step for the both of us, but we couldn't be happier. So here's how it went down... It was a stormy day (of course) but we decided to make a day of it. We went to a place called Table Rock, up in the mountains here. Since we are avid patch collectors, we thought it would be a good day to add to our collection. We walked around there for a few minutes, then decided to take the drive up to Cezars Head. The fog was so thick we couldn't see 10 feet in front of us, but we kept driving. Once we reached the top we went inside, got our patch, and decided to walk to the look out point. We weren't shocked to see that there really wasn't much to see due to the fog, but we were still enjoying every second of it. The rain started to come down softly as we were taking pictures and we decided that it was time for us to take the last picture and head out before we got soaked. Shane set up self timer on the camera and ran a few feet knowing he had only ten seconds to get situated. Right as the last beep beeped, he pulled from his pocket the most amazingly beautiful diamond ring I have ever seen. CLICK... The picture was taken, I was weak in my knees, and Shane said, " WILL YOU MARRY ME?" I grabbed him, shocked that this moment was actually happening and hugged him tighter than I ever have. I sat in silence trying to take in the excitement and hugged the heck out of him, when he said, "Well you have to say something...?" We laughed and with the little bit of breath I had in me I said yes. We then started talking and hugging and the rain came down more soaking us from head to toe. We then ran back to the car as fast as we could and enjoyed the rest of the day, and our patches together. I will admit, the rainy days are our favorite days!! I love my future husband with all my heart and cannot wait to spend the rest of this life, as well as eternity with him.
